Ever since I was a little boy, I've been interested in how things work and what they do. That is why I studied mechanics at my local technical college.
I am very good with my hands and with handling (pun intended) numbers. These are my body and number smarts.
On one of my good days, I don't get hit in the eye with the water sprinkler.
My job consists of :
- Measure, cut and assemble pipes
- Read blueprints to design systems and select the right pipes and materials
- Push pressurized air or liquid through pipes to check for leaks (courtesy of careercruising.com)
I work mostly indoors, and 3 times a week, I go to my local gym to work out. I need to stay in top shape for my job, since I handle heavy materials. I also am blessed to not have a condition such as vertigo, because I work with heights.
I like working with my colleagues because we are all close. We know how to have fun but get to work when it's time to.
I get to see new people everyday, and every situation is different: sometimes the pipes are clogged, sometimes we simply install the sprinklers etc.
I like to have variety in my life, so my job suits me perfectly.
The only downside to it is that I am really tired at the end of a week, because my job requires plenty of physical work.

I love my job as a sprinkler system installer!
Look, this is my company's motto, which is found on my truck!
